  42. DESCRIPTION
  43.  
  44.      EditKeys allows you to edit or create keymap files
  45.      (They are found in the Devs/Keymaps/ directory of the
  46.      boot disk). When you press a key on the Amiga's
  47.      keyboard, the key press is translated by the keymap
  48.      file that the system is using. For instance, British
  49.      Amigas use the keymap 'gb'. Different keymaps can be
  50.      found on the system disks supplied with your Amiga.

  52.      All aspects of a keymap can be changed with EditKeys
  53.      to give either minor or radical alterations; you
  54.      could e.g. redefine the numerical keypad to produce
  55.      strings of up to 255 characters. You can define or
  56.      remove dead keys, modifiable keys, whether keys repeat
  57.      when held down or not, whether Caps Lock causes the
  58.      key's output to be Shifted, etc.

  64.      * Enforcer hit removed.
  65.      * New 'Put Char' menu item, which allows the insertion
  66.        of any character into the editing string. This is
  67.        very useful when changing keys to produce characters
  68.        that do not usually appear on keymaps (e.g. characters
  69.        with a numeric value < 32).
  70.      * If 'Create Icons?' selected, when saving a keymap a
  71.        new icon will only be written if an old one does not
  72.        exist.
